MyFlowcast is a cash flow planning tool. It connects to your bank, learns your recurring bills and income, and projects your daily balance forward so you can see exactly what's safe to spend. It works without requiring you to categorize transactions or set up budgets.
Most budgeting apps are built around categorization — you assign every transaction to a category, set category budgets, and review monthly reports. MyFlowcast is built around cash flow. It focuses on what's coming in, what's going out, and what's left. You don't need to categorize anything to get value from it. If you want budgets and categories later, those are available as optional features.
Cash Flow Calendar is a solid tool for plotting bills on a calendar. MyFlowcast goes further with a smart matching engine that automatically links your bank transactions to your recurring bills and learns from your corrections. It also shows you unplanned spending (money that didn't match any known bill), gives you budget envelopes, and has a free tier that works without a bank connection.
It's your current account balance minus every bill, subscription, and recurring payment between now and your next paycheck. It's the amount you can spend without risking an overdraft or missing a payment. The number updates in real-time as transactions clear.
No. The core experience — safe-to-spend, cash flow projections, calendar view, alerts — works entirely on the split between "planned" (matched to a recurring bill) and "unplanned" (everything else). Categorization is available as an optional feature if you want more detailed spending analysis.
Everything except bank sync. You can manually enter transactions and recurring bills, see cash flow projections up to 12 months, use the calendar view, get alerts, and track multiple accounts. The free tier is fully functional — it just requires manual data entry.
Bank connection via Plaid (5,000+ US institutions), automatic transaction import, the smart matching engine that links transactions to bills automatically, recurring pattern detection, budget envelopes, and spending trends. Essentially: automation and intelligence on top of the core planning tools.
When a transaction comes in from your bank, MyFlowcast scores it against your known recurring transactions using description similarity, amount, date proximity, and account. High-confidence matches are applied automatically. If it's uncertain, it asks you with a quick yes/no. Each approval teaches the engine, so it gets more accurate over time.
A budget envelope is a spending limit you set for a category — like $400/week for groceries or $200/month for dining out. As matching transactions come in, the remaining amount ticks down. You can see your remaining budget in the calendar and cash flow timeline. Unlike other apps, this is completely optional.
Bank connections are handled by Plaid, the same provider used by Venmo, Robinhood, and thousands of other financial apps. MyFlowcast never sees or stores your bank login credentials. We only receive transaction data and balances through Plaid's secure API.
MyFlowcast uses Plaid, which supports over 5,000 US financial institutions including most major banks, credit unions, and credit card companies. If your bank works with Venmo or similar apps, it'll likely work here too.
Yes — that's actually why we built it. You can set up income with flexible frequency (e.g., "roughly every 30 days") or custom date schedules for irregular patterns. The cash flow projections account for these and show you what your balance looks like even when income timing is unpredictable.
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees. If you cancel, you keep access through the end of your billing period, then your account moves to the free tier. Your data stays — you just lose bank sync and auto-matching.
MyFlowcast is a web app that works on any device with a browser. The interface is responsive and works well on phones and tablets. A dedicated mobile app is on our roadmap.
MyFlowcast is built by a husband-and-wife team. We started it because we needed a better way to manage freelance income and plan around unpredictable cash flow. We use it ourselves every day.
